Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday greeted Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on his birthday and wished him a long and healthy life. “Happy Birthday to Congress President and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge. Wishing you a long and healthy life,” the Prime Minister said in a post on X. Kharge was born on this day in 1942. Kharge, a Dalit leader from Karnataka, came from a humble background and held several key positions in the party and in the governments of his home state and the Centre. He became the first Congress President after two decades who is not from the Gandhi family.
