New Delhi: Spiritual Guru Morari Bapu has given his reaction on the ongoing controversy over the order to put up nameplates of the owners of shops and hotels on the route of Kanwar Yatra. He said that this yatra is a journey of faith of the people, there is no competition here. He said, ‘I have seen Kanwar Yatra in every province, we were going at the time of Jyotirlinga also, Kanwar Yatra was taken out, I also participated in it. Politics and political field is not my field. But, this is a journey of faith. It should not be made an issue of controversy.’

‘There is no question of right or wrong’

Morari Bapu said, ‘People are going with so much devotion to perform Abhishek of Mahadev while chanting ‘Bam Bhole-Bam Bhole’. Everything should not be made a political issue in the country, rather devotion should be promoted. There is no question of right or wrong. In my view, because this is not my area. There is no need to get into any controversy and the one who has strong devotion will know how I should move forward. Please no one should make this a political issue.’

The Supreme Court had imposed an interim stay

Let us tell you that on Monday, the Supreme Court had put an interim stay on the instructions issued by the governments of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, in which the eateries located on the Kanwar Yatra routes were asked to display the names and other details of their owners, employees. A bench of Justices Rishikesh Roy and S.V.N. Bhatti issued notices to the governments of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh and asked them to respond to the petitions challenging the instructions.

The Ujjain Municipal Corporation in Madhya Pradesh also on Saturday directed shopkeepers to display names and mobile numbers outside their establishments. While issuing notices to state governments, the bench said it may be made mandatory for eateries to display the type of food they are serving, like whether they are vegetarian or non-vegetarian. Elaborate arrangements have been made in several states for the Kanwar Yatra, which began on Monday with the beginning of the Hindu calendar’s month of Sawan. The bench adjourned further hearing on the matter till Friday. (IANS)
