New Delhi. The meeting of NITI Aayog is to be held on 27th July. This meeting is going to be chaired by PM Narendra Modi. This meeting of NITI Aayog has been boycotted by the opposition governments. The latest name among those boycotting is Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann. Bhagwant Mann, who is running the Aam Aadmi Party government, has said that he will not attend the meeting of NITI Aayog. Apart from him, CM Revanth Reddy of the Congress government of Telangana, CM Siddaramaiah of the Congress government of Karnataka, CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu of the Congress government of Himachal Pradesh and MK Stalin, who is running the DMK government of Tamil Nadu, have also announced boycott of the meeting of NITI Aayog.

Opposition ruled states allege that the central government did not make any provision for their states in the budget. In such a situation, they will not participate in the meeting of NITI Aayog as a protest. The only big name from the opposition is West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and she has announced to participate in the meeting of NITI Aayog. It is clear from this that Mamata Banerjee’s party with 29 MPs does not want to be a part of every decision of the opposition alliance. Mamata Banerjee has already embarked on the path of going alone. She had even clearly refused to form an alliance with the most important party of the alliance, Congress, during the Lok Sabha elections.

Mamata Banerjee also intends to come to Delhi and hold a separate meeting with PM Modi. It is believed that Mamata Banerjee can demand West Bengal’s dues in this meeting. The West Bengal government alleges that the central government has not yet paid its dues of Rs 1.75 lakh crore. Mamata Banerjee has been targeting the Modi government by accusing it of not paying the MNREGA workers of Bengal. She even sent her MPs to the Rural Development Minister’s office last year and created a ruckus there. This time it remains to be seen what Mamata Banerjee says after the Niti Aayog meeting and meeting with Modi?
