Opposition created uproar in both the houses over Muda scam

Alleging the involvement of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the alleged alternative site scam in Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA), the opposition party staged a sit-in protest inside both the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council. Let us tell you that BJP gave an adjournment motion in the House on this issue and demanded a discussion, but the Speaker did not allow the discussion saying that the government has formed a single-member commission under the leadership of retired High Court judge Justice PN Desai, which has also started the investigation. In such a situation, there is no need to discuss it in the House.

BJP made the allegation

Let us inform you that BJP has alleged that Siddaramaiah is directly involved in this case, he is afraid that if the matter is discussed in the House, his secrets will be revealed. This is why the voice of the opposition is being suppressed. Regarding the Mooda case, BJP has alleged that there has been a scam of 4 thousand crores in this land allotment. It is alleged that CM’s wife Parvati Siddaramaiah is involved in this case.

The real land was outside the city

Parvathi Siddaramaiah originally owned 3 acres and 16 guntas of land in Kesare village in Mysuru, gifted by her brother Mallikarjuna, the land was acquired by MUDA for development and in 2021, Parvathi was compensated with a total of 38,283 sq ft of land in Vijayanagara 3rd and 4th stage layout. This is a prime locality inside Mysuru city, while Parvathi’s original land was outside the city.

Questions on fairness and legality of compensation

The market value of these lands in Vijayanagar is reportedly much higher than the original land in Kesare, raising questions about the fairness and legality of the compensation. However, the new site in Vijayanagar was allotted to Parvati in 2021 during the BJP rule itself. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah defended the allotment, saying it was done in 2021 under the BJP government, stressing that MUDA’s decision to compensate with land in Vijayanagar was due to the unavailability of plots in the layout of Kesare. The BJP alleges that the CM’s wife had no right over this land, but Siddaramaiah grabbed this prime land by pressurizing MUDA first as Deputy Chief Minister and then as CM.
