New Delhi. The noose is slowly tightening around the controversy-ridden trainee IAS Pooja Khedkar. Now the police have seized a luxury car, a licensed pistol and three pistols from Pooja’s mother Manorama’s house in Pune. Pooja’s mother Manorama is currently in police custody on charges of threatening farmers with a pistol. It is being told that this pistol seized by the police is the same one with which Manorama’s video threatening the farmers went viral. In this case, the police had registered a case against Pooja’s mother Manorama and her father Dilip and some others under attempt to murder, threat and Arms Act.

In this case, the search for Puja’s father Dilip is still on. Manorama and Dilip had absconded after the case was registered. However, later the police arrested Manorama from a homestay in Raigarh district. Earlier yesterday, UPSC also registered an FIR of fraud against trainee IAS Puja. Along with this, UPSC has sent a notice to Puja and asked her to answer why her IAS candidature should not be canceled. UPSC has found in its investigation that Puja cheated to take advantage of reservation by changing her name, father’s name, mother’s name and using wrong mobile number, fake address and fake identity card and took advantage of it in the UPSC examination.

Yesterday, Thermoverita India Private Limited Engineering Company, a firm linked to Puja’s mother, was also sealed. Officials of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation in Pune district said that the firm was sealed for outstanding property tax of about Rs 2 lakh. This is the same firm at whose address Puja had applied to obtain a disability certificate.
