PV Sindhu On Paris Olympics 2024: India has not had a very good performance in the history of Olympics, but this time the team of 117 Indian athletes who have gone to participate in the Paris Olympics includes some names who are being seen as strong contenders to win medals in their events. One such name is of star female badminton player PV Sindhu, who has so far managed to win medals twice in the history of Olympics, in which she won the silver medal in the Rio Olympics and the bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics. In such a situation, she is expected to win a medal in the Paris Olympics as well, in which if she succeeds in doing so, she will become the first Indian player to win three medals in the history of Olympics.
My target is to win a medal
PV Sindhu, who is practicing at the Porte de la Chapelle Arena, told PTI about her preparations for the Paris Olympics, “Of course, winning a medal is my goal. It doesn’t matter if it’s the first or second or third. I have won two medals and I don’t want to put pressure on myself by thinking about the third medal. Whenever I participate in the Olympics, it is a new Olympics for me. So whenever I play in the Olympics, my goal is to win a medal. Hopefully, I will complete the hat-trick soon.”
Sindhu also gave information about her special preparation for the Paris Olympics
Before coming to Paris to participate in the Olympics, Sindhu practiced at Sportcampus Saar in Saarbrucken, Germany, whose altitude above sea level, weather and conditions are similar to the capital of France. Apart from this, Sindhu built a hypoxic chamber (low oxygen) for herself there to acclimatize herself to the conditions of Paris, in which she slept there for a few days. Regarding this special preparation of hers, Sindhu said that I could not go to a high altitude place for practice. I did not have much time and so I thought that it would be better to create such conditions here rather than going somewhere else.
