Ranbir Kapoor talked about his father Rishi Kapoor
Ranbir Kapoor belongs to Bollywood’s biggest and most famous family ‘Kapoor family’ and is the son of Rishi Kapoor-Neetu Kapoor. However, despite being from the biggest family of the industry, he had to work hard to win the hearts of the audience. Ranbir did not cry on the death of his father Rishi Kapoor
Now recently, while talking in Nikhil Kamath’s podcast, Ranbir Kapoor spoke very openly about his personal life. He talked about the secret of his happy life with wife Alia Bhatt and also about the night when his father Rishi Kapoor said goodbye to this world. Ranbir recalled how they came ‘close’ after years of ‘distant’ relationship. He recalled the day when he was told that Rishi Kapoor could say goodbye to this world at any time.
I stopped crying very early: Ranbir Kapoor
During this, Ranbir also told that when his father died, he did not cry at all. Ranbir himself revealed the reason behind why he did this. Ranbir says- ‘I stopped crying very soon. I did not cry even when Papa died. When I was in the hospital, the doctors told me that this could be his last night, he could go away forever at any time. I remember, after knowing this, I went to the room and I got a panic attack. I did not know how to express this pain. A lot was happening, which I was not able to handle. But, I don’t think I was even able to mourn his departure.’
I did not have the courage to bridge the distance between us: Ranbir
Ranbir further says- ‘When he was undergoing treatment, we spent a year together in New York. I was there with him, then one day suddenly he started crying. He had never been so weak in front of me. This was very strange for me, because I did not know how to handle him. Should I explain to him or hug him. I really felt something, the feeling of distance between us. I still feel guilty that I did not have the courage to erase the distance between us. To hug him or give him some love.’
I have never shown weakness: Ranbir Kapoor
Ranbir further said, ‘Every person is brought up in a special way. When you are told that now you have become a responsible person, then many things start going through your mind. Today I have a mother, sister, wife and a daughter. My father has also passed away. Now, amidst so many responsibilities, can I make myself weak? I don’t know about all this, but I have never shown any weakness.’
