Vishnu Dev Sai government of Chhattisgarh has launched ‘Sugam App’ to protect people from fraud and get their property registered online. The app is getting good response from people. More than 1,200 registrations have been made through the platform as of earlier this week. An official gave this information on Thursday. The Public Relations Department official said the ‘Sugam (Convenient) App’ was launched on October 21 with the aim of making the property registration process more transparent and user-friendly.
The official said the app has gained popularity since its launch, facilitating over 1,200 property registrations across the state and marking a significant shift towards online registration. State Finance Minister OP Choudhary said in a statement, ‘The government is committed to greater technological applications and procedural reforms in the registry work for citizen empowerment. Sugam App is an important step towards preventing property related frauds.
Complaints related to property registration often come to the fore, in which people become victims of fraud in many ways. There have been reports of the same property being sold to different people and in some cases, properties have been registered that do not actually exist. There have also been cases where land earmarked for roads, pathways or gardens has been sold fraudulently. In some cases, more land has been sold than exists.
The official said these incidents fuel disputes and add to court cases. Under the Sugam app, during the process of registration, the concerned party will visit the property under deal and click its photographs from three different angles as per the instructions given in the app. The photographs will automatically be transferred to the Registrar’s module to register the latitude and longitude of the property. In this way the actual geographical location of the property will be permanently recorded in the registry paper.
