The last Test of the 2-match series between India and Sri Lanka is to be played from today i.e. 12 March 2022 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. It is a day-night match. In this, pink ball () is to be used instead of lol ball (). The match will start at 2 pm Indian time. Toss time is 1:30 PM.
Bangalore is also known as ‘Garden City’. The Pink Ball Test in ‘Garden City’ could prove to be lucky for Virat Kohli. Virat Kohli has not scored a single century in international cricket for 28 months. He scored his last ie 70th international century against Bangladesh in the Pink Ball Test in Kolkata in November 2019. Then he played an innings of 136 runs.
In such a situation, Virat Kohli would like to end the drought of his centuries by hitting a hundred in the Pink Ball Test in ‘Garden City’. On the other hand Axar Patel can also do wonders in this pink ball test. Akshar last took 11 wickets in a pink ball Test against England in Ahmedabad. He also opened the bowling in the second innings.
Since November 2019, the former Indian captain has played 28 innings but could not score a century. He scored more than 50 6 times. The M Chinnaswamy Stadium is also the homeground of his team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Virat Kohli will also get the benefit of being familiar with the field. In the face of Sri Lanka’s weak bowling attack, he can overcome the silence of the bat at his favorite ground. Virat had started well in the Mohali Test too, but could not play a big innings.
