The secret behind Arjun Tendulkar not making his IPL debut this season has been exposed. Actually, two shortcomings have remained a hindrance in the path of this all-rounder, due to which he failed to make a place in the playing XI of Mumbai Indians. In the mega auction held before the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, Mumbai Indians bought Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun Tendulkar for Rs 30 lakh.
However, the 22-year-old youngster did not get a chance to play in a single match in the recently concluded season. Left-arm seamer Arjun Tendulkar has been a part of Mumbai Indians for the past few years, but his skills have been confined to the nets. He has not been able to debut in IPL yet. Now Mumbai Indians bowling coach Shane Bond has given a statement about his not being selected in the playing XI.
Arjun Tendulkar was also bought by Mumbai Indians in the 2021 IPL auction, but he did not get to play any match even then. Despite this, the five-time champion again included him in the team selected for IPL 2022. For this reason, the cricket fans hoped that maybe this time he might make his debut in the IPL.
Shane Bond says Arjun still needs to work on his batting and fielding. Talking to SportsKrida, he said, ‘Arjun needs to work a little more now. When you are playing for a team like Mumbai Indians, it is one thing to build a team, but it is another thing to make a playing XI.
Shane Bond said, ‘When you play in a tournament like IPL, giving everyone a chance is a different thing, but for that you have to carve your place. Arjun still has some work to do on his batting and especially fielding. Hopefully Arjun Tendulkar will work harder and be successful in making his place in the team.
Earlier, Mumbai Indians posted a video on their YouTube channel. In that video, Arjun Tendulkar could be seen taking the wicket of his teammate. Zaheer Khan is of the opinion that Junior Tendulkar has a great appetite for learning. He is learning things fast from the coaching staff.
