New Zealand’s wicketkeeper-batsman Tim Seifert’s 100 not out off 56 balls, Sussex Sharks’ team suffered a defeat against the Hampshire Hawks in the T20 Blast. In reply to the target of 199 runs, Sussex’s team could only manage 177 runs for 6 wickets. Hampshire registered their first win of the tournament after four consecutive losses. Seifert was part of the Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals (DC) in IPL 2022.
Apart from Seifert, Delray Rollins scored 32 runs for Sussex. In the last over, the wicket-keeper batsman completed his century by hitting three sixes. The team was at one point struggling with 61 for the loss of four wickets. After this Seifert and Rollins took over the team. The duo put on a stellar partnership of 71 runs in just 34 balls before Rollins was run out in the 17th over.
After this Seifert did not get any support and had to face defeat by 22 runs. A 124-run opening partnership between skipper James Vince and Ben McDermott helped Hampshire post a mammoth total of 199 runs. Vince scored 65 runs in 41 balls and McDermott made 60 runs in 35 balls. Apart from this, Liam Dawson played an innings of 14 runs in 5 balls.
Not much chance in IPL – Tim Seifert did not get much chance to play for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2022. He scored 24 runs in two matches. In this 21 runs were his highest score. He also got infected with Corona. In the year 2021, he was in the team of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). In that season too, he got a chance to play only one match. He got infected with Corona at that time as well.
