The 25th of March 2022 brought good news for women cricketers. In fact, on the same day in the Indian Premier League’s Governing Council (GC) meeting in Mumbai, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) proposed a 6-team women’s IPL from next year. In such a situation, there is a lot of possibility that from 2023, the fans should organize women’s IPL along with men.
According to the Cricbuzz report, the current IPL franchises were given first preference for this in the meeting. It was decided that all efforts would be made to introduce a six-team T20 tournament annually for women cricketers. Till now BCCI was organizing T20 Challenge tournament for women. Only 3 teams played in it. However, this year only the Women’s T20 Challenge will be held.
The BCCI has decided that the first proposal for the selection of these 6 teams will be given to the existing IPL franchises only. The BCCI will propose to him to form a women’s team. If there is no complete success in it, then the board will ask for applications for franchisees.

Cricket West Indies (CWI) Caribbean Premier League (CPL) has also decided to start a three-team women’s T20 league from this year.
The neighboring Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has also announced such plans. A top BCCI office-bearer told that it is the board’s responsibility to ensure that she is a domestic lady. T20 league Get started, regardless of the commercial return from the tournament.
In another important decision, the Governing Council approved the IPL’s media rights tender for the 2023-27 cycle. It is very likely that the Tender to Tender (ITT) document will be issued on Monday or Tuesday. There will be several options for the bidding parties. It is also learned that the total assets of the business houses willing to bid should be Rs 1000 crore.
