Mercedes-Benz today announced a price hike for all its models. This increased price will be applicable from April 1. The company has announced a price hike of 3 per cent across the entire model range. The company has attributed the continuous increase in input cost to the increase in price. Rising input cost has also increased the operational cost of the company significantly. For this reason the company has to increase the price of the vehicles.
The company has increased the price by around Rs. 50,000 on the A-Class limousine, around Rs. 1 lakh on the GLC 220d to around Rs. 5 lakh on the top-end AMG GT 63 S 4 door coupe. The new price hike will not be applicable to electric cars but will be mainly applicable to ICE cars. This includes A 200 Limousine (42 Lakh), GLA 200 (45 Lakh), GLC 200 (62 Lakh), GLE 300 d 4M (86 Lakh), GLS 400d 4M (1.16 Lakh), LWB E-Class 200 (71 Lakh), S-Class 350 d (1.60 Cr), AMG E 63 S 4matic (CBU) (1.77 Cr), and AMG-GT 63 S 4 Door Coupe (CBU) (2.70 Cr).
Martin Schwenk, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India said, “At Mercedes-Benz, we will continue to offer one of the best products in technology. To run a sustainable business it was necessary to improve prices to offset the continued increase in input and operating costs. The new pricing of our vehicles will keep the brand premium and continue to be the best in class experience for the customers.
