take this caution
Dr. Tushar Tayal, Senior Consultant, Internal Medicine, Narayana Superspecialty Hospital Gurugram says that most of the colors consist of heavy metals, acids, powders, glasses etc. These substances are very harmful for the eyes and skin. Dyes in paste and spray form contain toxic compounds that can cause itching, skin allergies and rashes. If you are suffering from any of these problems then wash with plain water and apply coconut or almond oil on it. If you feel that the itching is causing irritation, then dip some cold milk in cotton and massage the area where there is an allergy to the dyes. Apart from this, if any of your wounds get affected while playing Holi, then wash it with normal plain water and clean it and apply some good antiseptic cream. If the eye gets colored or gully, wash your eyes with cool water until you feel that the irritation is gone. Never try to rub the eyes.
Do this jugaad before Holi
Before playing Holi, apply cream or water proof base on the face and apply olive oil, sesame oil or mustard oil on the body. Due to this, the color will not get on your face and body and it will come off easily after bathing.
To protect the lips from any kind of damage, apply a good lip balm so that the color does not get painted on the lips.
Apply oil or gel in the hair and tie their bun so that the hold of the color on the hair and scalp (head skin) remains loose.
To protect your eyes from these colors, put glasses on your eyes while playing Holi.
Like the skin, the eyes can also be allergic to colors. To avoid all this, apply cold cream around your eyes well before playing Holi. If you are going out somewhere, keep the windows of your car on top.
Also, if you wear contact lenses, remove them before playing Holi.
Colors have to be played on Holi, but for this, take great care of your clothes. Try to wear only fully covered clothes. This will cause less damage to the skin.
Small bright particles of chemicals, mica, lead are present in artificial colors and gulal, which are harmful to the skin as well as many parts of the body. Please refrain from this.
Play Holi either with dry colors or make your own eco-friendly colors using natural materials. This will not cause any harm to health and Holi will also be safe.
