During interrogation, accused Akshay told that Kuldeep Singh had come to him with the intention of going to America. A deal was fixed between the two for Rs 47 lakh. The deal included the cost of air tickets along with visas to Dubai, China, Surinam, Guatemala and the US. Under the deal, it was also decided that Kuldeep would pay Rs 47 lakh only after reaching America. Akshay knew very well that Kuldeep, who had passed 12th, could not go to America on a work visa under any circumstances. Therefore, he convinced Kuldeep to go to America via the donkey route.

As soon as Kuldeep agreed, Akshay arranged for visa-tickets for Dubai, China, Surinam and Guatemala. Kuldeep left for Dubai from Delhi airport. After this, he also reached China from Dubai. But, he could not answer the questions of the immigration officer in China. Due to which, he was deported to Delhi airport. After reaching Delhi airport, the Immigration Bureau, an agency under the Intelligence Bureau (IB), took Kuldeep into custody and started questioning him. During the questioning, a fake stamp of Delhi Immigration Bureau was also found on Kuldeep’s passport.
