Indian The stock market closed with a decline on Thursday. The Bombay Stock Exchange’s index Sensex closed at 80,039 today with a decline of 0.14 percent i.e. Rs 109. Out of the 30 stocks of Sensex, 14 stocks closed in the green and 16 in the red today. Whereas, the National Stock Exchange’s index Nifty closed at 24,406 today with a decline of 0.03 percent i.e. Rs 7.40. At the time of market closing, out of 50 stocks of Nifty, 25 stocks were in the green and 25 were in the red.

These stocks rose

The biggest gainers in the Nifty pack were Tata Motors (5.97%), ONGC (4.83%), BPCL (3.67%), SBI Life (3.62%) and Larsen & Toubro (2.91%). The biggest losers were Axis Bank (5.08%), Nestle India (2.50%), ICICI Bank (2.14%), Titan (2.11%) and Tata Steel (1.75%).

Nifty Metal fell the most

Talking about sectoral indices, Nifty Metal recorded the highest decline of 1.29 percent today. Apart from this, Nifty Consumer Durables fell by 0.84 percent, Nifty Realty by 0.83 percent, Nifty Private Bank by 0.92 percent, Nifty PSU Bank by 0.58 percent, Nifty IT by 0.15 percent, Nifty FMCG by 0.07 percent, Nifty Financial Services by 0.50 percent and Nifty Bank by 0.83 percent. Apart from this, the highest rise of 2.22 percent was recorded in Nifty Oil and Gas. Apart from this, Nifty Midsmall Healthcare rose by 0.50 percent, Nifty Healthcare Index by 0.61 percent, Nifty Pharma by 0.94 percent, Nifty Media by 0.81 percent and Nifty Auto by 1.26 percent.
