Indian Women Team: The Indian women’s team is performing very well in the T20 Asia Cup 2024. The team has moved towards the semi-finals by winning two consecutive matches. The Indian team defeated Pakistan by 7 wickets in their first match. Now the Indian women’s team has defeated the UAE team by 78 runs. In this match, the bowlers and batsmen performed well for the Indian team. Batting first, the Indian team gave the UAE team a target of 202 runs to win, in response to which the UAE team could score only 123 runs. For India, Harmanpreet Kaur and Richa Ghosh have played an important role in the victory.
UAE batsmen flopped
The UAE team, which came out to chase the mountainous target, did not have a good start. When Tirtha Satish returned to the pavilion after scoring just 4 runs. After this, Renitha Rajitha, Samaira Dharanidharka scored 7 runs. After losing three wickets for 36 runs, the UAE team looked in trouble. But after this, Kavisha Egodage and captain Isha Oja played excellent innings and tried to stay on the wicket for some time. Isha scored 38 runs and was dismissed by debutant Tanuja Kanwar. Kavisha remained not out after scoring 40 runs, but she could not make her team win. Apart from this, no batsman of the team could play a big innings. Due to this, UAE scored only 123 runs in 20 overs.
From India’s side, Deepti Sharma took the maximum of two wickets. Renuka Singh, Tanuja, Pooja Vastrakar and Radha Yadav took one wicket each. Deepti Sharma took 2 wickets for 23 runs in 4 overs.
Harmanpreet Kaur played a strong innings
On the other hand, after losing the toss and batting first, the batsmen performed brilliantly for the Indian team. Harmanpreet Kaur and Richa Ghosh scored half centuries. Harmanpreet scored 66 runs and Richa scored 64 runs. Apart from this, opener Shefali Verma contributed 37 runs. It is because of these players that the Indian team was able to score big. Jemima Rodrigues and Smriti Mandhana could not play big innings. The team scored 201 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. For the first time in T20 International cricket, the Indian women’s team has scored 200 plus runs. Richa Ghosh has received the Player of the Match award for her brilliant performance.
