Vientiane: South East Asian country Laos has issued a postage stamp on Shri Ram Lalla of Ayodhya. Laos has released a postage stamp not only of Ram Lalla but also of Mahatma Buddha. This information was given by India’s Foreign Minister Dr. S Jaishankar on microblogging site X. With this, Lao PDR (Lao People’s Democratic Republic) has become the first country in the world to issue this stamp on Ayodhya.
Jaishankar is on a visit to Laos and while tweeting this, he said that a special stamp set was launched celebrating our shared cultural treasures of Ramayana and Buddhism. Jaishankar is on a visit to Vientiane for the ASEAN-India Ministerial Conference, East Asia Summit Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and ASEAN Regional Forum Meeting. Let us tell you that India and Laos have had good relations for centuries due to Buddhism.
