In such a situation, agricultural scientist Dr. Dhiru Kumar Tiwari and other experts working at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra located in Madhopur of the district have shared detailed information about all the medicinal properties of lemon grass.

Medicinal Plants Expert ‘Ravikant Pandey’, who has been working on plants for the last 25 years, has shared some special information on the medicinal properties of lemon grass. He says that lemon grass contains a very high amount of antioxidants. It also has anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties.

The special thing is that it also contains flavonoids which have anti-inflammatory properties, due to which one gets relief from body pain during high fever. Not only this, the use of lemon grass increases the amount of hemoglobin in the body. Its leaves are full of iron and vitamin C, which is very beneficial when taken by mixing it in tea or other things.

Useful in curing even cancer cells
Agricultural scientist Dr. Dhiru Kumar Tiwari says that lemon grass is a citric type plant. It contains about 88% vitamin C, which works as an antioxidant. It reduces anti-inflammatory process. If someone has arthritis, cardio vascular disease or complains of frequent cold and cough flu, then its consumption can prove to be very beneficial. The surprising thing is that many researches have found that lemon grass is useful in curing even cancer cells.

Demand is high in the market
Agricultural scientists say that farmers can benefit a lot from the cultivation of lemon grass. Agricultural scientist Dhiru Kumar Tiwari said that dozens of farmers in the district are cultivating lemon grass. It is mainly cultivated in Majhauliya block. After harvesting the crop, it is sold in the market. It is used in making oil, soap, sanitizer, phenyl, anti-fungal and various types of medicines.
