Kargil Vijay Diwas 2024

Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated every year on 26 July in India to pay tribute to the bravery and valor of Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the Kargil War in 1999. The country is celebrating Rajay Jayanti this year on the completion of 25 years of Kargil Vijay. On this day we honor the bravery and sacrifice of those Indian soldiers who fought the Kargil War with Pakistani intruders. So today on this special occasion, we are telling you about those films which are made on the Kargil War.

LOC Kargil

‘LOC Kargil’, released in 2003, is based on the successful Operation Vijay of the Indian Army. It is produced and directed by JP Dutta under the huge banner of JP Films. The film featured Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Sunil Shetty, Ajay Devgan, Sanjay Kapoor, Manoj Bajpayee and Akshaye Khanna.

Directed by Farhan Akhtar, ‘Lakshya’ is based on the story of the Kargil war. The film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Preity Zinta and Hrithik Roshan in lead roles. The film depicts the story of Karan Shergill who joins the Indian Army and emerges as a hero during the Kargil war.

Produced by Dharma Productions, it is released in 2021. ‘Sher Shah’ is a biopic of Kargil War Captain Vikram Batra. In this biographical film, the role of Commander Captain Vikram Batra is played by Siddharth Malhotra. Captain Vikram Batra was posthumously awarded the highest Indian military honor Param Vir Chakra for his bravery during the Kargil War.

The film ‘Border’, directed by JP Dutta, broke all records as soon as it was released. This multi-starrer film released in 1997 featured many famous actors like Sunny Deol, Sunil Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Akshay Khanna, Kulbhushan Kharbanda and Rakhi. Directed by Ashwani Chowdhary, ‘Dhoop’ shows the story of the family of Captain Anuj Nayyar, MVC, who led the Kargil war for India. Om Puri, Revathi, Gul Panag and Sanjay Suri made everyone emotional with their strong acting in the film. Let us tell you that Captain Anuj Nayyar was martyred on 5 July 1999 in the south-west sector of Tiger Hill.
