After voting for the seventh phase of the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, almost all the exit polls that came on Monday evening say that once again the BJP government is going to be formed under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath. All the exit polls for Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party also indicate that the party seems to be doing much better than in 2017. But still looks away from power. However, if the exit polls turn out to be true, there are many messages of relief and happiness for the SP.
Big increase in vote share and seats
Almost all exit polls have unanimously said that the SP alliance can capture 100 to 150 seats, as against 47 seats it had to be content with in 2017. According to Aaj Tak Exit Poll of Axis My India, SP can get 71 to 101 seats. ABP-C voter has predicted 132 to 148 seats. News 24 Chanakya has talked about getting 86-124 seats. Times Now veto says SP can get 151 seats. At the same time, according to the Republic-P mark, the SP can go up to 130-150 seats. At the same time, the vote share of the party also seems to have increased significantly compared to 2017. At the same time, almost all exit polls have projected a 10-15 per cent increase in vote share for the SP.
Successful in bringing Mayawati’s voters to her side
An analysis of the vote share estimates in almost all the exit polls shows that the SP-BSP has been successful in breaching the vote share. It is a matter of relief for the party that it has been able to turn the slipping support base of SP towards itself. Had BSP’s voter share been transferred to BJP, BJP could have broken last year’s record as well. If the party has got the support of Dalit voters along with the base of Muslim, Yadav, then it will prove to be auspicious for the SP in future.
Ready to be an alternative to BJP
Another clear message from the exit polls is that the politics of UP is now focused on the BJP and the SP. BSP’s support base is continuously shrinking, so despite all efforts, Congress is unable to find land. In such a situation, even if the SP remains away from power in this election, then it will definitely be satisfied that in the coming time, if the people find an alternative to BJP, then only SP will be in front of them.
the enthusiasm of the workers will increase
In the 2017 and then 2019 elections, the SP got disappointing results despite the alliance first with the Congress and then the BSP. Even in the exit polls of 2022, the party does not seem to be getting power, but the increase in the performance of the party will definitely send a positive message to the cadre. The enthusiasm of party workers can definitely increase, which is like a lifeline for any political party.
