Before voting on the no-confidence motion against Imran Khan, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Bajwa has again raised the Kashmir rage. He said that Pakistan is ready to hold talks with India to resolve all pending issues including Kashmir.
Dawn newspaper quoted Pakistan’s COAS as saying, “Pakistan believes in using dialogue and diplomacy to resolve all pending issues including the Kashmir dispute. If India also agrees to do the same, it will go ahead on this front.” ready to grow.”
He made these remarks during the Islamabad security talks on Saturday. Last year, Gen Bajwa had made similar remarks at the same event. He had said that it is time for India-Pakistan to bury the past and move forward.
The Pakistan Army Chief said that Pakistan wants the India-China border to be resolved through diplomacy and dialogue. “I believe it is time for the region’s political leadership to rise above its emotional and perceptual prejudices and break the shackles of history to bring peace and prosperity to the region’s nearly three billion people,” he said.
Last month, Pakistan said it wanted to have mutually beneficial relations with all its neighbors, including India, and resolve all outstanding disputes. In New Delhi, Pakistan’s in-charge Aftab Hasan Khan had insisted that resolving the core issue was essential for lasting peace and stability in the region.
India has said on several occasions that it wants normal neighborly relations with Pakistan. India’s consistent stand is that the issues between India and Pakistan should be resolved bilaterally and peacefully in an environment free from terrorism and violence. New Delhi has said that it is the responsibility of Pakistan to create such a conducive environment.
