Four children, including three children of the same family, died after consuming poisonous taffy in Uttar Pradesh’s Kushinagar on Wednesday morning. After the incident, when the ambulance did not reach the spot despite repeated information, the family members took the four children by bike and reached the district hospital. There the doctors declared all four dead. The death of four children together has created a furore in the village.
According to the information received, Devi, the head of Lathur Tola of Kudwa alias Dilipnagar of Kasaya police station area, was sweeping the door of the house in the morning. During this, he got five toffees and nine rupees in a polythene. He gave three toffees to his grandsons and one to the neighbor’s child. After eating the toffee, the four children had gone far ahead to play that they fainted and fell on the ground. Seeing the innocent children suffering, the villagers called the ambulance. But when the ambulance did not come for a long time, each of the children was taken on a bike and taken to the district hospital. There the doctors declared the four children dead.
The dead children include Rasgul’s 5-year-old daughter Manjana, three-year-old Sweety and two-year-old son Samar. Balesar’s 5-year-old only son Arun has also died after consuming toffee. The death of four children in the early hours of Wednesday has created a ruckus in the village. Everyone’s heart is being torn apart by the cries of family members.

According to the villagers, the flies that sit on the wrappers of toffee are also dying. One toffee is kept in reserve. SDM Kasaya Varun Kumar Pandey told that the matter is being investigated. He said that all the information is being collected.
