Rekha Singh, wife of Veer Chakra awardee martyr Deepak Singh, living in Fareda village of Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh, has achieved the distinction of becoming a lieutenant in the army, fulfilling her husband’s dream. His training will start in Chennai from May 28. She said that she has come to the army to fulfill her husband’s dream and show the right path to the sisters. Rekha was not successful in the first attempt, but she did not despair and in the second attempt she was selected in the rank of lieutenant in the Indian Army. From May 28, she will train in Chennai, after which she will serve in the army.
Before marriage, Rekha Singh was working as a teacher in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Sirmaur. Highly educated Rekha had dreams of serving the society by becoming a teacher. After marriage, her husband Deepak Singh inspired her to become an officer in the army. After the martyrdom of her husband, Rekha resolved to fulfill her dream and in this her in-laws also supported her. After the martyrdom of her husband, Rekha Singh was also given appointment by the Madhya Pradesh government in class two of education workers.
Didn’t get success at first
Meanwhile, Rekha Singh had a constant desire to join the army because she had to fulfill her husband’s dream. For this, he went to the office of the Zilla Sainik Welfare Association and discussed it. After which he got proper guidance and cooperation from the district administration and Sainik Welfare Association. After that he started his preparation and went to Noida and took training for entrance exam to join the army. She did not get success in the first attempt but in the second attempt she succeeded and became a lieutenant.
Deepak was martyred in Galwan Valley
Let us tell you that Shaheed Deepak Singh was born on 15 July 1989 in Fareda village of Rewa. Deepak was recruited into the Indian Army’s Bihar Regiment in 2012 as a Nursing Assistant in the Medical Corps. Shaheed Deepak Singh had attained martyrdom on 15 June 2020 while countering the sudden Chinese attacks in the Galwan Valley of Ladakh. Martyr Naik Deepak Singh was doing the duty of Nursing Assistant. He had also suffered severe injuries during the violent clash, yet he saved the lives of 30 soldiers.
Received Vir Chakra posthumously
He continued to show courage even after getting injured during the violent clash in Galwan. However, he was later martyred due to deep wounds. Marty Deepak Singh was awarded the Vir Chakra posthumously for his sacrifice for the country. President Ram Nath Kovind presented this honor to the martyr’s wife Rekha Singh during a program organized at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
