Maulana Syed Kalbe Jawad Naqvi, General Secretary of Majlis-e-Ulema-e-Hind, expressed dissatisfaction over the court’s decision in the hijab controversy in Karnataka, saying that we have great respect for the court but feel that the issue of hijab is justified. No attempt was made to understand.
Imam Juma Maulana Syed Kalbe Jawad Naqvi appealed to the Muslims that Muslims should build their educational institutions wherever possible throughout India. It is not necessary that we should first try to establish big schools and colleges.
He said that earlier efforts can be made in this direction only from small schools. Maulana said that establishment of more and more schools and colleges is very important for Milat so that we do not remain attached to anyone else. We have to be self-reliant in every field so that no one tries to destroy our identity.
Maulana further said in his statement that hijab is not a hindrance to attaining education. That’s why we demand that girl students should be allowed to enter schools wearing hijab. Instead of raising such unnecessary issues, work should be done to promote development, prosperity and inter-religious harmony in the country. Maulana also announced that Namaz Juma will start one hour late at 1:15 due to Holi.
