A case of murder of a youth by bathing him with acid by miscreants in Nadaha village under Hilsa police station area of Nalanda, the home district of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has come to light. The deceased has been identified as Veeresh Ram (35 years) resident of Nadaha village.
Angry villagers attacked the house of the accused and pelted stones fiercely. Villagers also damaged many vehicles by pelting stones at the Hilsa police station, which reached on getting information. Several policemen are reported to have been injured in stone pelting. In defense, 5 rounds of air firing has been done by the police.
According to the villagers, some youth of the village called Viresh Ram from home and took him away. After this, he was burnt alive by spraying acid, due to which he died on the spot. Tension prevailed in the village after the incident. Angry villagers are not allowing the dead body to be lifted.
SP Ashok Mishra said that DSP is reaching the spot. Efforts are being made to control the situation. A large number of police forces have been deployed in the village. Hilsa DSP Krishna Murari Prasad said that according to preliminary investigation, acid was poured on the body of the deceased. The family members and the villagers attacked the house of the accused, enraged by the murder and dumping the dead body. The reasons for the murder are yet to be ascertained. Police is involved in the matter.
