He had no direct connection with politics, but due to age, MLA father Ganga Singh Kushwaha expressed his desire to leave the electoral field this time, then the party gave a chance to Surendra Kushwaha. From Gorakhpur to Lucknow, he has suddenly come into the limelight after defeating a big political figure like Swami Prasad Maurya in the very first election.

Swami had come to Fazilnagar after leaving Padrauna
Till now, the science of Swami Prasad Maurya, who was called the meteorologist of politics, this time was left in the ground. Before the election, he left the BJP by resigning from the post of minister and joined the SP with the claim that due to his arrival, the storm of SP will start in the state and Akhilesh Yadav will be crowned on the throne of Lucknow in any case but Surendra Kushwaha Gave him such a blow which can affect his political future in the coming times.
Surendra’s father from MLA from Fazilnagar
Surendra Kushwaha’s father was an MLA from Fazilnagar seat. There has been a tussle between BJP, SP and BSP on this seat. Ganga Singh Kushwaha of BJP had been winning this seat for the last two elections. Fazinagar seat is number 332 out of 403 assembly seats in UP. This seat falls in Deoria Lok Sabha constituency. There are total five assembly constituencies in Deoria Lok Sabha constituency. Fazilnagar is one of them. In the 2017 elections, the margin of victory in the Fazilnagar seat had increased. Then Ganga Singh Kushwaha of BJP defeated Vishwanath of SP by a huge margin of 41,922 votes. Prior to that, in the 2012 assembly elections, Ganga Singh had a tough fight from Kalamuddin of BSP. The margin of victory at that time was less than 5,500 votes. Vishwanath became MLA from Fazilnagar seat in 2007 on SP ticket.
Swami had chosen this seat because of these equations.
There are about 90 thousand Muslim voters, 55 thousand Maurya-Kushwahas, 50 thousand Yadavs, 30 thousand Brahmins, 40 thousand Kurmi-Sainthwars, 30 thousand Vaishyas and about 80 thousand Dalit voters in Fazilnagar assembly constituency. It is said that there is a good number of Kushwaha-Maurya (Koiri) fraternity in Fazilnagar assembly constituency. That is why Swami Prasad Maurya had come here to contest elections. He expected full cooperation from Muslim voters as well. Actually, Swamy had earlier intended to claim from Padrauna seat, but due to former Union Minister R.P.N. But even here Surendra Kushwaha will become a cause of defeat for him, perhaps his advisors would not have guessed it.
