Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra has termed food delivery company Zomato’s new service that promises to deliver food in 10 minutes endangering the lives of the deliverers and road users. The minister has asked the company to make changes in it immediately.
Speaking to reporters here on Friday, Mishra said that Zomato or any company will not be allowed to violate traffic rules. The company will be held responsible for traffic rules violations or accidents that occur during the instant delivery process. Mishra said that Zomato’s service of delivering food in 10 minutes is like playing with the lives of its employees (delivery associates) as well as others.
Will be dangerous for people: Mishra
Mishra said, ‘Zomato or anyone will not be allowed to violate traffic rules in Madhya Pradesh. The company will be responsible for any accident, so please do not do this. He said that a person providing food can reach the destination of four kilometers in 10 minutes only by speeding and driving dangerously from the middle of the city. So this service will be dangerous for the lives of the people.
Facility has started in certain places
Let us tell you that Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal has announced the launch of Zomato Instant service by tweeting on Monday. Goyal said the 10-minute delivery service will be available to customers at select locations and for certain food items. There is no penalty for late delivery and no incentive for on-time delivery.
