In the case of threatening officials in the name of Akhilesh Yadav, the police has started tightening the noose on Abbas Ansari, son of Mukhtar Ansari. Just before the election, Abbas had said in a public meeting that if the SP government is formed, the first officials will have ‘account book’. Based on the same statement, an FIR was registered against Abbas. His election campaign was also banned by the commission. Now many sections have been increased in the case registered against Abbas.
This time from Mau Sadar, the traditional seat of Mukhtar Ansari, the SP alliance partner Subhaspa had fielded Abbas Ansari. During the election campaign, Abbas had taken the name of Akhilesh Yadav and said that he has spoken to Bhaiya. After the formation of the SP government, the officers here will not be transferred for six months. First everyone will be accounted for.
When Abbas’s statement became increasingly viral, a case was registered against him under sections of code of conduct violation. The Election Commission also considered Abbas’s statement serious and banned him from campaigning.
Abbas Ansari may have become an MLA by winning from Mau Sadar, but with the massive victory of the BJP, the police have also started tightening the noose on him. After the statement of accounting, a case was registered against Abbas Ansari under the sections of code of conduct violation.
In the same case, section 186 (obstructing official work), section 189 (threatening public servant), section 153A (statement or attempt to cause disturbance against any particular class) and section 120B (criminal conspiracy) have been extended against Abbas.
On the question of adding new sections, the Inspector of Mau Kotwali says that the first case was registered against Abbas in violation of the code of conduct. If other things came to light in the investigation, then the sections have been increased. However, he says that the sections were increased the very next day after the case was registered.
What did Abbas say
Before the election, Abbas had said during a public meeting, “I have come to say to the National President of Samajwadi Party, Akhilesh Yadav, that there will be no transfer-posting for six months, brother. Whoever is here, will stay here, will be accounted for first. After that the certificate of his departure will be stamped.” As soon as the video of Abbas went viral, there was panic till Lucknow. ADG Law and Order Prashant Kumar took cognizance of this and directed the officials to take action against Abbas.
