this is your history
The Aam Aadmi Party had contested the 2013 Delhi Assembly elections within a year of its inception. Then he defeated the Congress led by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit for 15 years. AAP had won 28 seats and formed the government with the help of Congress. However, Kejriwal resigned after 49 days after an anti-corruption bill stuck in the state assembly. Then in 2015, AAP registered a thumping victory and won 67 out of 70 seats. The party had won 62 seats in the 2020 assembly elections. AAP’s victory in 2020 also mattered because no party had managed to get 50 per cent vote share in two consecutive elections till then. The only exception was the back to back victories of the Congress in 1980 and 1985.
