The National Medical Commission (NMC) has removed the upper age limit for those appearing in the NEET-Under Graduate 2022 exam. The upper age limit set by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in 2017 was 25 years for unreserved candidates and 30 years for reserved candidates.
In a notification, CBSE had said that “the upper age limit for NEET-UG is 25 years as on the date of examination, with a relaxation of five years for SC/ST/OBC category candidates.”
In a letter sent by Dr.Pulkesh Kumar, Secretary, National Medical Commission (NMC) to the Office of Senior Director, National Testing Agency (NTA), Dr. Devvrat said, “I would like to inform that the 4th NMC meeting held on October 21, 2021 I have decided that there should be no fixed upper age limit for appearing in NEET-UG examination. Therefore, the information bulletin may be modified accordingly.”

An official said that with the removal of the age limit criteria, candidates can now appear in the medical entrance examination multiple times and even after taking admission in other courses. This step will also be helpful for those seeking admission abroad.
