The Delhi High Court has made a strong remark against Twitter on Monday. The court asked the microblogging site that if Donald Trump’s account can be blocked, then why action is not being taken against those who comment against Hindu gods and goddesses? The matter pertained to a Twitter account on which objectionable material was posted against the Hindu goddess. The High Court questioned Twitter that it is not concerned about the people and their sentiments from other areas.
Twitter should be more sensitive
A bench of Chief Justice Vipin Sanghi and Justice Navin Chawla was hearing in relation to the post made by the Ethist Republic user name on Maa Kali. The bench directed Twitter to explain how some people have been blocked here. Whereas in some cases action was not taken despite having material that hurts other religions. The court asked Twitter to be more careful and sensitive. According to Livelaw’s report, when the American company argued that users can post any type here. She cannot block all accounts. On this, the court asked that then how did you block Trump’s account?
The court gave these instructions
The court also said that Twitter’s stand and saying that it cannot block the account is not completely correct. Siddharth Luthra, appearing for Twitter, said that the objectionable post has been removed in this case. Also an FIR has also been registered. At the same time, public prosecutor Harish Vaidyanath said that the process of blocking the account against which the complaint has been received is going on.
