Three people were killed and one was seriously injured when two Air Force trainer fighter jets collided in southern South Korea on Friday. According to Yonhap News Agency, on April 1 at around 1:36 pm local time, two South Korean Air Force KT-1 trainer fighter jets collided in the city of Sacheon, about 440 km from the capital Seoul, causing the accident.
What have the officials told?
According to local media reports, emergency officials have told that these jets collided in the air during training. Three helicopters, 20 vehicles and dozens of emergency personnel have been dispatched to the scene. Officials said the cause of the collision was not immediately known.
The accident happened in January too
The incident follows the death of a South Korean Air Force pilot in January 2022 when his F-5E fighter jet collided with a mountain in the city of Hwaseong, south of the capital, Seoul.
