ukraine russia war Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday discussed the situation in Ukraine with Netherlands Prime Minister Mark Rutt and called for an immediate ceasefire between the two countries and finding a diplomatic solution to the dispute.
The Prime Minister’s Office said here that the two leaders in their talks about Ukraine expressed deep concern over the humanitarian crisis situation there. Modi reiterated India’s appeal that violent action must stop immediately and the parties concerned return to the path of diplomacy and dialogue. Modi welcomed the ongoing talks between Russia and Ukraine and expressed hope that this would lead to an early resolution of the crisis.
Modi apprised Prime Minister Rut of the progress of the operation to evacuate Indian nationals from Ukraine and about providing all necessary humanitarian aid, including medicine, to the people of Ukraine. Mr. Modi recalled the virtual meeting he had with Prime Minister Mr. Rutt in April last year and invited him to visit India at the earliest.
