In the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, where the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is going to form the government with a thumping majority, Swami Prasad Maurya, who resigned from the Yogi government just before the elections, and joined the SP camp, has to face a crushing defeat. Swami Prasad Maurya’s daughter and BJP MP Sanghamitra Maurya has now reacted to Yogi’s victory and father’s defeat. Describing defeat and victory as two sides of the same coin, he said that no one is immortal in politics.
Sanghamitra Maurya said in a conversation with ABP News, “Victory and defeat in politics are two sides of the same coin. It is not that there is no victory after defeat and there is no defeat after victory. I myself am an MP today but have lost twice before. I came here after struggling. This phase comes with everyone. No one has come to politics after drinking nectar, that if he comes, he has become immortal.
Sanghmitra Maurya, who had appealed for her father’s victory just before the election, after a tussle between supporters of Swami Prasad Maurya and the BJP candidate, was asked if she was happy with the BJP’s victory, she said, “Absolutely. To whom the people will give their blessings, whatever the people want will happen, those who do not listen to the people will be thrown out by the people. The decision is valid for the public. Today the government has been formed with a thumping majority, it was already decided. Everyone knew that Modi ji’s schemes have reached from village to village, to get the benefit of it.
Saddened by the defeat of SP candidate and his father Swami Prasad Maurya? Sanghamitra Maurya replied, “I have already said that defeat and victory are two sides of the same coin. I myself have lost twice. I am the father who has also struggled a long time. I have seen the face of defeat. We have seen both the aspects in the journey of struggle, we accept the decision of the people with our heart.
