The Russian invasion of Ukraine has been going on for more than a month. Meanwhile, a top Russian general has said that the “first phase” of the Russian military operation in Ukraine is now complete. Colonel General Sergei Rudskoy, First Deputy Chief of the General Staff of Russia, told the media that in general all the main tasks of the first phase of the operation have been completed.
Russia wants to liberate Donbass?
Rudskoy has said that the combat capability of Ukraine’s armed forces has significantly decreased. In such a situation, efforts are focused to achieve the main goal. And this main goal is the Liberation of the Donbass. He has said that we will not back down until the Russian army liberates Donbass and Luhansk. Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said the war was going “as planned”.
Moscow has given this information when the Russian army is seen stopping near Kyiv and Kharkiv. According to Ukrainian media, thousands of Russian soldiers have been killed since the start of the war. A CNN report states that Russia has also failed to gain an air edge in Ukraine.
Thousands of Russian soldiers killed in Ukraine war so far
Colonel General Sergei Rudskoy insisted on March 25 that Russia aims to ‘liberate’ Ukraine’s Donbass region. Rudskoy reported that 1351 Russian military personnel have been killed and 3,825 wounded in Ukraine so far. However, according to NATO, more than 15,000 Russian soldiers have been killed in the war.
Russia has consistently said that we are not targeting civilians, we are only targeting military bases. However, there is a lot of evidence that confirms that the Russian army has targeted many hospitals, schools, apartments and civilians.
