Ahead of the swearing-in ceremony, Yogi is in Delhi to meet top BJP leaders to discuss the government formation exercise and several other issues. The swearing-in is likely to take place after Holi (March 18). Earlier in the day, Yogi also met Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and BJP General Secretary (Organisation) BL Santhosh.
The BJP has won 255 seats and two of its allies won 18 seats in the recently held elections to the 403-member state assembly. Political analysts believe that Adityanath’s stature has increased with this victory, as his leadership was central to the BJP’s re-conquest efforts in the state.
