New Delhi. New dates for the constable recruitment exam in Uttar Pradesh Police have been announced. The exam will be conducted for 5 days on 23, 24, 25, 30 and 31 August for recruitment to 60244 constable posts. The exam will be conducted in 2 shifts every day. Not only this, the candidates appearing in this exam will get free service in the buses of Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UP Roadways). Candidates will not have to buy bus tickets to go to the examination center and return home, for this they will have to show the admit card to the conductor. The candidate will have to get two copies of the admit card, one copy while going to the examination center and the other copy while returning to his home district.

This exam was earlier organized on 17th and 18th February, but due to paper leak, it was cancelled by the UP government. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had then said that the exam will be conducted again within 6 months. In a press release issued by the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board, it has been told that due to Janmashtami festival, a gap has been given in between the exams. About 48 lakh candidates have applied for the constable recruitment exam. About 5 lakh candidates will appear in the exam in each shift.

Strict action will be taken against those involved in copying or any other illegal activity during the examination. In the release, referring to the UP Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Ordinance-2024 recently implemented by the Uttar Pradesh government from July 1, 2024, it has been told that if any candidate is caught cheating or using unfair means in the police recruitment examination, then he can be fined up to one crore rupees and sentenced to life imprisonment or both.
