Disappointment over players being left out

Tharoor expressed his disappointment on Twitter, especially over the exclusion of some players. He pointed out that Sanju Samson, who scored a century in his last ODI, was not included in the team. Apart from this, Abhishek Sharma, who scored a century in the T20 series against Zimbabwe, was also not included in the team.
