Ferozepur Union Minister of State for Defense Sanjay Seth paid tribute to the country’s great freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev and Vijay Date at the Hussainiwala Shaheed Smarak in Ferozepur district of Punjab on Sunday. On this occasion, he said that our brave martyr is the pride and respect of the nation. He said, “The freedom that 140 crore Indians are breathing are the gift of the highest sacrifices of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev. It is a moment of good fortune for me to bow down to this holy site on the centenary of their martyrdom.”
Sanjay Seth described Hussainiwala as a pilgrimage center of patriots and said that the martyr Jyoti here ignites the flame of patriotism in the heart of every Indian.
Recalling the sacrifice of the martyrs, he said, “I am feeling blessed by coming to this holy place. The sacrifice of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru will always inspire us.”
Earlier, the Minister of State for Defense reviewed the ongoing relief and rescue operations in the flood affected areas at Ferozepur district headquarters. Several senior officials including Ferozepur District Magistrate, Superintendent of Police were present in this meeting. Sanjay Seth discussed important issues such as prompt solutions of flood affected people, preparations to deal with the challenges arising after flood water and payment of compensation for losses.
He directed the officials to take quick and effective action. He said, “The central government stands firmly with every citizen of Punjab to deal with this natural disaster. Every effort is being made to provide relief to the affected people.”
He instructed the district administration to take all necessary steps to ensure immediate assistance and compensation to the flood victims.
Sanjay Seth also assured that the central government along with the Punjab government and local administration is committed to normalizing the situation in flood affected areas.
He appealed to the affected people to maintain patience and cooperate with the administration. During this visit, the Minister of State for Defense met the local people and listened to their problems and assured them of all possible help.
The tour was not only an opportunity to express respect for the martyrs, but also reflects the activeness of the central government in dealing with disaster like floods.
