New York. American singer Mary Milben on Wednesday welcomed the restoration of trade talks between India and the US. He said that ‘friends’ talk like this.
US President Donald Trump on Tuesday announced the restoration of trade talks, in response to which Prime Minister Narendra Modi reacted positively. He said that these dialogues ‘will open the unlimited possibilities of India-US partnership’.
Posting on the social media platform X, Milben wrote, “Friends talk like this. With mutual respect, understanding and shared base. This is the same President Donald Trump and PM Modi whom I know. We need each other and we are even stronger together.”
He added, “Our alliance establishes a moral and economic guidelines for the world and it paves the way for peace.”
Milben first met PM Modi in June 2023, when he was on a state visit to America. He sang the Indian national anthem at Ronald Reagan Building in Washington in 2023.
After his performance, he took blessings by touching PM Modi’s feet. The singer expressed her attachment to India and said, “I love India.”
Earlier in the day, Trump had announced the restoration of negotiations to remove trade barriers between Indo-US in a post on the social media platform Truth.
He wrote, “I am happy to declare that India and America are continuing dialogue to overcome trading obstacles between our two countries.”
Describing PM Modi as ‘very good friend’, he said that he is eager to talk to him in the coming weeks.
PM Modi responded to Trump’s comment and shared a post on X, in which he confirmed the strength of Indo-US relations and expressed confidence in the outcome of the ongoing trade talks.
He wrote, “India and America are close friends and natural partners. I am confident that our business talks will pave the way to open the unlimited possibilities of India-US partnership. Our teams are working to complete these discussions as soon as possible. I am also keen to talk to President Trump. We will work together to ensure a bright, more prosperous future for our people.
