Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday expressed his wish to the newly elected Vice President CP Radhakrishnan, expressing confidence that he would be an outstanding Vice President and will strengthen India’s “constitutional values” and extend “parliamentary dialogue”. The Prime Minister praised Radhakrishnan and said that his life was dedicated to the service of the society and the poor.

Prime Minister Modi wrote on ‘X’, “Thiru CP Radhakrishnan ji congratulated for victory in the 2025 Vice Presidential election. His life has always been devoted to the service of society and empowering the poor and marginalized people. I am confident that he will be an excellent Vice President who will strengthen our constitutional values ​​and pursue parliamentary dialogue.”

A total of 98.20 percent voting was held in the Vice Presidential election, out of which 767 out of 781 MPs cast their votes. NDA candidate CP Radhakrishnan got 452 votes of first preference, while India Block candidate Justice B Sudarshan Reddy got 300 votes of first preference. 15 votes were declared illegal. Rajya Sabha General Secretary PC Modi said at his press conference, “NDA candidate and Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan got 452 votes of first preference. He has been elected Vice President of India … Vice Presidential Vice Presidential candidate Justice Sudarshan Reddy got 300 votes of first priority.”
