Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday expressed his wish to the newly elected Vice President CP Radhakrishnan, expressing confidence that he would be an outstanding Vice President and will strengthen India’s “constitutional values” and extend “parliamentary dialogue”. A total of 98.20 percent voting was held in the Vice Presidential election, out of which 767 out of 781 MPs cast their votes. NDA candidate CP Radhakrishnan got 452 votes of first preference, while India Block candidate Justice B Sudarshan Reddy got 300 votes of first preference. 15 votes were declared illegal.
