On Wednesday, SpiceJet flight SG-12 coming from Dubai to Delhi was in the headlines because the flight came from Dubai to Delhi but the luggage of all the passengers was missing. The flight landed safely at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (Terminal-3), but all the luggage of the passengers remained in Dubai.
Passengers reached Delhi but luggage remained in Dubai
There were 148 passengers on this flight. The flight left at 12 noon (UAE time) i.e. 1:30 pm (Indian time) and reached Delhi at around 5 pm. The trouble started when the passengers approached the baggage belt but there was no bag.
Pratham Choudhary, a passenger from Ghaziabad, said, “The luggage belt was empty. Later gradually everyone realized that no one’s luggage had arrived. Later it came to light that all the luggage was left in Dubai itself.”
plane overrated
Some passengers say that the plane was overloaded, so all check-in bags were removed. Suhana Bisht from Noida said, “If the weight is already measured, then how was it known after the flight that the plane is overweight?” He said his bag contained items worth more than 5,000 dirhams.
This is not the first time this has happened with SpiceJet. The airline has previously faced criticism over luggage handling on international routes. But SpiceJet had not yet issued any official statement on this matter.
