Efforts to overcome the long-standing shortage of teachers in Delhi government schools have intensified. Delhi government has issued advertisement for the recruitment of 5,346 teachers. Earlier, advertisement for the recruitment of 1,180 teachers was issued in September. This recruitment process is part of the plan to recruit 18,000 teachers in government schools.
The application process will start from this date
Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board has released the advertisement of vacancies and online applications are being invited from 9th October. The Directorate of Education of the Government of Delhi operates 1,075 schools, in which 8,24,225 students are enrolled.
In addition, 74,563 students are enrolled in 199 schools aided by the directorate. Officials said that out of over 18,000 teacher posts, a large number of posts are vacant, which have been filled by guest teachers over the years.
