Balotra (Barmer). A heart-wrenching road accident took place on Balotra-Sindhari Mega Highway late on Wednesday night. There was a massive head-on collision between a speeding trailer and a Scorpio vehicle near Sindhari border. The collision was so severe that both the vehicles caught fire instantly and the entire area was filled with smoke. In the accident, four people traveling in the Scorpio burnt to death on the spot, while a young man was seriously injured. Local people tried to extinguish the fire, but by then the flames had completely engulfed both the vehicles. As soon as the information was received, Sindhari police station and Deputy Niraj Sharma reached the spot. With the help of the fire brigade, the fire was controlled and the bodies were taken out of the vehicle. The deceased have been identified as residents of Dabar village of Gudamalani area.
After the horrific accident, traffic on the mega highway came to a complete halt and there was a long traffic jam. After much effort, the police opened the road and removed the debris from the vehicles.
According to the local people, the trailer was coming at a high speed and while overtaking the Scorpio, it collided from the front. Pictures and videos of the accident are going viral on social media, seeing which everyone’s heart was shaken.
Police have registered the case and started investigating the cause of the accident.
