New Delhi, October 21 (). The Government of India has announced the military awards. Soldiers of all three armies are included in the list of award winners released by the government. The special thing is that the list also includes the names of those soldiers who have played an important role in other operations including Operation Sindoor.
The Central Government has recently issued a Gazette Notification notifying the citations of Defense Forces recipients of gallantry awards in various operations including Operation Sindoor. The gallantry award citations included in the Gazette are mainly from Indian Air Force and Indian Army personnel.
The list released by the government includes officers and soldiers of many prestigious units like Army Special Forces, Rashtriya Rifles, Gorkha Regiment, Rajputana Rifles, Dogra Regiment, Sikh Regiment, Garhwal Rifles, Mechanized Infantry and Artillery. Many pilots, commanders and technical staff of the Navy and Air Force have also been honored for their outstanding contribution in courageous operations and missions.
The notification informed that President Smt. Draupadi Murmu has approved 127 gallantry awards and 40 distinguished service awards for the personnel of the Armed Forces and Central Armed Police Forces. These include 4 Kirti Chakras, 15 Vir Chakras, 16 Shaurya Chakras, 02 Sena Medals (Gallantry), 58 Sena Medals (Gallantry), 06 Navy Medals (Gallantry), 26 Vayu Sena Medals (Gallantry), 07 Sarvottam Yudh Seva Medals, 09 Uttam Yudh Seva Medals, and 24 Yudh Seva Medals.
The President has also approved 290 Mention-in-Dispatches: 115 personnel of the Indian Army, 05 of the Indian Navy, 167 of the Indian Air Force, and 03 personnel of the Border Roads Development Board.
