Kushinagar. There is news of death of Sukhdev Yadav alias Pehelwan, convicted in Delhi’s famous Nitish Katara murder case, in a road accident. Sukhdev Pehalwan came out of Delhi’s Tihar Jail only in July 2025 on the orders of the Supreme Court. It is being told that Sukhdev’s bike was hit by an unknown vehicle near Madhuriya police post of Turkpatti police station in Kushinagar. Due to which Sukhdev, accused in the Nitish Katara murder case, died on the spot.
Nitish Katara was murdered in Delhi in 2002. In the murder case of Nitish Katara, the court had also sentenced Sukhdev Pehalwan, son of Bahubali leader DP Yadav, Vikas Yadav and Vishal Yadav to life imprisonment. After serving 20 years of imprisonment, Sukhdev Yadav alias Pehalwan had requested to be released, but the committee that reviewed the behavior of prisoners in the jail had refused to release Sukhdev. After this, Sukhdev filed a petition in the Supreme Court and appealed to be released from jail.

On the petition of Sukhdev Pehalwan, Supreme Court Justice B.V. The hearing was conducted by a two-judge bench headed by Nagarathna. During the hearing, the Delhi government’s lawyer had told the Supreme Court that Sukhdev Pehalwan has been sentenced to life imprisonment. Under this, he has to remain in jail till his natural life, but the Supreme Court did not accept this argument and released the Nitish Katara murder convict from jail saying that in such a situation, every prisoner will die in jail. However, even after coming out of jail, Sukhdev, convicted in the Nitish Katara murder case, could not live life under the open sky and lost his life in a vehicle collision.
