
Shravasti News: Shravasti. Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay district level sports competitions were inaugurated at Sports Stadium Shravasti. Players from schools across the district participated enthusiastically in this two-day competition organized on the instructions of Uttar Pradesh Sports Directorate. The program was inaugurated by Assistant Engineer Minor Irrigation Saurabh Yadav and President of Kho-Kho Association Jamil Ahmed as chief guests. District Sports Officer Shivkumar Yadav welcomed both the guests with a warm welcome.
The chief guests started the competitions after getting introduced to the players. District Sports Officer said that junior category boys football, girls Kho-Kho and boys basketball competitions are being organized in the two-day programme. Teams from Baldev Prasad Citizen Inter College Amwa, Navodaya Vidyalaya Shravasti, Government Girls School, Shri Alakshendra Inter College, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Janata Inter College and other educational institutions participated in it.
Eight teams participated in the football junior category. In the first match, UPS Patna defeated Sports Stadium A team 3-0, while in the second match, Kho-Kho Club defeated Rajkiya Ashram Vidyalaya 3-1. In the girls’ Kho-Kho competition, ATS Bhaiyapurwa defeated Janata Inter College 14-7 and reached the final.
The final match was played between ATS Bhaiyapurwa and Shri Alakshendra Inter College, in which the team of ATS Bhaiyapurwa won 9-8 in a thrilling match. On the closing occasion, District Sports Officer Shivkumar Yadav expressed his gratitude to all the participants and judges. The jury included Ashish Kumar, Jagesar Saini, Vivek Kumar, Mohd. Muslim, Anushka Prajapati, Kanhaiya Prajapati and Vikas Giri had special roles.
