Varanasi. In the religious city of Kashi, on Saturday, the day of Prabodhini Ekadashi, a crowd of devotees gathered since morning to take bath at the Ganga ghats despite the rain. Prabodhini Ekadashi is also known as Devuthani Ekadashi and Hari Prabodhini Ekadashi. This date is the day of re-awakening of Shri Hari from four months of Yoga Nidra.
Acharya Shambhu Sharan told that on the day of Prabodhini Ekadashi, there is a rule to bathe in holy rivers or ponds. If you get the good fortune of taking a bath in the Ganga, then understand that you have achieved the results of taking a pilgrimage. A pinch of sesame seeds is offered at the time of bathing. Kartik Shukla Paksha Ekadashi is also called Prabodhini Ekadashi or Devotthan Ekadashi. Lord Narayana is worshiped by making a sugarcane pavilion. From this day onwards, sugarcane prasad is considered auspicious, that is, sugarcane juice should be consumed. At some places Tulsi Vivah will be performed today and at other places it will be performed tomorrow. Today afternoon Bhadra will be from 3.30 pm to 2.56 pm. There are no auspicious works in Bhadra. Therefore Tulsi Vivah will take place on November 2.
