Chandigarh, November 2 (). Punjab Police has achieved great success in action against terrorism and gangster networks. Gurdaspur Police has arrested gangsters sitting abroad and two people associated with Khalistani organization. The accused have been identified as Lovdeep Singh alias Luv and Tek Chand alias Tinku.
According to the information given by the DGP office of Punjab Police, both the accused were being operated by foreign based radical gangsters Gurdev Jassal and Gurlal alias Gullu. Both these foreign handlers are associated with a terrorist organization named Babbar Khalsa International (BKI).
Preliminary investigation has revealed that both the arrested youths were planning target killing of their rival gang members in Punjab. This entire conspiracy was hatched with the aim of spreading instability in the state and creating an atmosphere of fear among the people.
According to the police, the accused were receiving continuous instructions from their foreign handlers and were actively preparing for the upcoming attacks. During this time, the police raided and arrested both of them and recovered three .32 bore pistols and several cartridges from them.
At present, the police is thoroughly interrogating the accused and trying to find out how many people this network has spread to in the state. The police are investigating their ‘forward and backward links’, that is, all the links from the order givers to the local help.
Punjab Police says that a continuous campaign is being conducted to eliminate the gangster-terror network in the state. Police has made it clear that anyone working at the behest of foreign terrorist organizations will not be spared.
